Monday bruise or Monday blues?!

Certainly when you reached the age whereby you have say goodbye to school life and begin your work life, you might be excited and looking forward to the school life that you always hated. Yet, when you are at the situation whereby you begin your work life, you will realised the “pure”, carefree school life, you and your friends enjoyed during school life and the most hated homework and lessons are things in life which you will deeply missed.

I begin this week post by stating this fact is because not because I had a hard time at work but I simply do not understand some people and the ways their style of doing things which are foolish and childish. Workplace let me have the chance to meet different kinds of humans who you will never understanding the things they do and the aim of them doing certain things in order to achieve their motive.

Don’t worry for me, from the first day when I started working, I was told about this from my ex-employer, Auntie Connie.

She was my first boss when I started work in a bookstore which was many years back. I was lucky to be under supervision, as she taught and given me lots of chance to perform and realise my abilities.

Today, times had changed.

Many fond memories at Ghim Moh Secondary which my beloved friends shared are often becoming the coffee talks and topics of interest which we will remember and spent time to dig them out to life.

The last met up was months ago. But I warmed with the belated gift from Kai Boon, its fruit puffs from chewy junior. She brought it specially from me this afternoon at Jurong Point. It is packed with 9 different flavours of fruit puffs, including chocolate, blueberry, strawberry, almond with chocolate, mango etc as shown below.

Xian Hui, Xiu Ling and I met up @ Tiong Bahru for lunch. It was an unplanned meal with the girls. It was informed the day before however; Kai Boon and Albert were unable to come down due to their own commitments.

I guess able to spend time to updates with friends about recent life happenings is a great thing to do in a rainy Sunday afternoon.


Music Review - David Tao Opus 69 album

After his "123 We Are All Wooden Men" world tour, Taiwan's "Music Godfather" David Tao comes back with his new album in three years titled Opus 69. The number in the title references a number of things, among which is that it's the singer-songwriter's 6th album and 9th CD. Besides, David was born in the summer of '69, and the symbol of his zodiac sign, Cancer, resembles "69".

Moreover, in the ancient text of I-Ching, 6 and 9 symbolize "change" and "rebirth", and the numbers when pronounced in Japanese are similar to "rock", which is what this highly anticipated album is about! David puts aside his famous R&B style to return to his musical roots in rock music for this band sound-oriented album, which comes with new songs like "Your Song", "Zero to Hero", "Adoration", and "RE.DT".

His last album was released 3 years ago, Too Beautiful. This album has a collection of 14 tracks which a mix of fast, love songs etc. His first Hit 火鳥功 (Huo Niao Gong) the artiste himself wanted to bring out his self and attitude to life whereby we should be having this inner spirits that keep us going if we are put down with negative comments. The impression got deeper if the track is repeated in your player yet you might get irritated with the style of presentation by David Tao if you are certainly not a fan of his songs.

The 2nd hits I would like to recommend is radio-friendlier and I guess, most listeners will choose from the album as this is a loved songs which will touch the hearts of many people.

It is the sixth week of the school term, which means term two will commencing two weeks from now. I just attending my last lesson for Communication SSC101e, it is a blended course material of both online and three interactive class sessions with my classmates.

I will not comment as one of the best class that I had attend as a second year student, but I guess, interactive lessons are too few to actually mix around to know new friends or classmates, which is the problems that lie with the system.

Most of my classmates were either mothers or fathers at home who already has kids and married, which for me, I am really young but I guess that is the part which interest me to know more classmates in any class.

If only, we have more breathing space and time to enjoy the lessons instead of just preparing for the exams in November or TMA (Tutor-marked assignments) which we need to submit at least one assignment per module.

I am trying to get used to this way of schedule since last year July, though compared to first year which I did face some problems adapting to the system.

I was on my own.

Time just passed when you know it is time to leave this module to the next term commences.
Well, I am really looking forward to next terms which will be commencing soon, yet, I guess, this week, I had to enjoy myself with the company of friends and contacts, and slowing down in my pace in doing the things I like, which I had not for the past two weeks due to work and rushing out assignments.

Recently, due to the time constraints and the lack of sleep of the need to meet all deadline for my assignments, coffee has become one of my best friends to keep me awake.

Music Review - Fan Wei Qi – F1 album
Songs are the best tools to express your emotions with the aid of lyrics.
Christine Fan Wei Qi had released her new album this month, name F1 (Fan 1st).


This album is rich in content and variant in colour and songs selections which Fan Fan can offer to her listeners. As compared to her past albums, this is one of the best albums so far I had heard.

The songs which I like to recommend is track 4 from her F1 album titled Grey Rainbow (灰色的彩虹).
Have you wonder how rainbow can turned grey?
Well, probably the grey clouds which had darken and threaten the sky or referring to our inner world which often gets gloomy because of situations that crossed our mind leave us with emptiness of our next path we should head down in life.

Joey Yung – Very Busy Album

Joey Yung has just released her new Chinese album. In Hong Kong, we definitely do not doubt Joey Yung’s Canto songs and her diva identify in Hong Kong yet in the Chinese market as a whole, in Taiwan, Singapore, China, Malaysia etc, some of us might not be familiar with her songs or simply know one or two songs from her previous album.



To me, it is really rewarding to be able to hear Joey’s new Chinese album as I am seriously getting tired of newcomers in the Taiwan music industry who had been labeling themselves as newcomer or identify such as composer and music producers in the past. I just feel, they are just another new singer in the entertainment industry which will not leave a strong impact unlike Jolin, Elva, Ah Mei, Jay, Show Lou, Leehom etc.

Yet Joey Yung has proved her abilities and her improvement in her new album. The song I like to recommend Is This Love? (Zhe jiu Si Ai Ma). Though you can hear the pronouncing of words do contain some ascent from a canto diva, yet this is the uniqueness of Hong kong artistes which Sammi, Andy Lau, Aaron Kwok inherit this special features and selling point, let fans remember their voice even till now.

This album has a variety of songs yet I am still expecting more songs to bring the variance of Joey Yung as a icon of Chinese music industry which you can simply find it in her canto songs. But overall, this album is worth supporting.

As usual, assignment has been keeping me occupied, burning numerous nights and taking away my weekends.

On hand, I had two projects to handle and to be submitted within next week.

I guess, instead of spending my time to reflect or thinking on things that will not happen, I will rather spend it wisely on work and studies to enrich myself with knowledge from books and learning new stuff @ work which I guess, I did not have such opportunities in the past.

Time flies, it is at the month of August.

A new term will be starting commencing soon.

AMIT (Ah Mei)

A new name, a new look, this is the comments that many people are surprised with the new Ah Mei and the new style of music. This is a brand new Ah Mei, which she set aside her title as Queen of Pop in the chinese music.

She tried Rock, and heavy metal which listeners will be eager to hear her presentation. I personally feel though this album lacks some songs which you will select to sing @ KTV yet, it is a breakthrough for chinese music and the diva, Ah Mei has finally able to be herself.

Choose it or lose it

I'm one day late to post this. Well, I name this post as to remind myself to treasure something that I have, and not lose it again!

I had been busy for the past few days.

I managed to have sufficient rest during the three days long weekend ( Only on Saturday when I am 80% completing my assignment).

Work and assignments had drained me, yet I am enjoying the process, as it is something worth doing. Though I would not say life has been great, but I guess, there are changes and new opportunities and plans ahead. At this point in time, I am appreciating the people and the stuff happening around me.

Qian Hui's Birthday
Just as you might be wondering who is Qian Hui, well, she is definitely not my new girlfriend.

She 's my niece. This year, she is celebrating her 12th year old birthday.

My second sister brought a ice cream cake which is her favourite, I guess. It seems that July and August, there are lots of people around me are celebrating their birthdays.

Me, Patrick, Azlin, Selene, Augustine, Adelene and his boyfriend( I don know how to spell his name), the seven of us had decided to have different way of celebrating National Day and Augustine and Selene's birthday.

Thus, our birthday girl had booked a room @ Rasa.

It was a wonderful day together, though it's just 2 days of break from work and studies. But I guess, we do have lots of fun celebrating Selene's and Augustine Belated Birthday and not forgetting, the National Day.

What's next?

There are 2 assignments on hand, one is due this coming Monday, the other is a group assignment which my team had not even discussed, what can I say, hopefully, we can start with some planning to complete this assignment.

Well, work is busy as well as studies, as this semester, there is e-learning course, thus I had to plan time to read my textbook and notes under strict scheduled.

Though the process is exhausting and had drained me physically but it is worth the cost.

Leexian's Birthday (1 Aug)

The last weekend, Sherline, Dennis, Leexian, Terence, and Myself was there to celerbrate our best friends birthday. The perfect 5.

I was the planner of the B day celebration, suggesting the place to makan is a problem yet I had a great commendation from one of my friends which ring the idea of having to gather everyone for an Italian style of appreciating food.

Yingting's Belated B day Celebration (2 Aug)

On Sunday, we met up @ Ion Orchard for window shopping. I guess, as it is Singapore latest shopping paradise, thus Ion was packed with shoppers on Sunday, which presently, I was not surprised to see the crowd queuing @ the B4 food zone.

Well, the crowd did cause settling down for dinner at a restaurant rather difficult, thus, with the recommendation from Yingting, Sun with Moon is the restaurant which we decided to head down for dinner. It is located Level 3 @ Wheelock Place.

Movie Pick of the week:

The Hangover: Movie

Two days before his wedding, Doug and his three friends drive to Las Vegas for a blow-out bachelor party they'll never forget. But, in fact, when the three groomsmen wake up the next morning, they cant remember a thing.

For some reason, they find a tiger in the bathroom and a six-month-old baby in the closet of their suite at Caesars Palace. The one thing they cant find is Doug. With no clue as to what transpired and little time to spare, the trio must retrace their hazy steps and all their bad decisions in order to figure out where things went wrong and hopefully get Doug back to L.A. in time to walk down the aisle.

Well, the plot is reasonable. But it is a adult content rated movie, thus some jokes may not be funny to minority.
